With MY 511, you build your own 511.org home page or bypass phone menu options to get to the
information that you need FAST. To start, register at my511.org.
With MY 511, you
define and save up to six traffic trips and six transit trips, with names like "home to
work" or "work to gym".
Then you can access real-time driving times and transit departure times
for those trips on the 511 phone service and 511.org. You can also receive text message and e-mail
MY 511 on the Phone
On the phone, MY 511 allows you to bypass menu prompts to go directly to current information for
your preferred trips. During registration, you can save up to three phone numbers that 511 will
recognize. When calling 511, the phone system recognizes MY 511 users via caller ID and immediately
asks for the name of a saved trip set-up during MY 511 registration (e.g. "Home to work"). MY 511
will respond with current traffic and/or transit information for your trip.
If your phone number has caller ID blocked, you must say, "MY 511" at the Main Menu. The system will
respond by asking you to enter your 10-digit phone number. Upon recognition, MY 511 will ask for one
of your trip names and provide the current traffic and/or transit information.
To use MY 511 on the phone, you must create an account at my511.org first. Click

E-mail and Text Message Alerts
With MY 511, you can have current traffic condition information sent directly to your e-mail or text-enabled phone.
During registration or at any time from your user account page, you can define when and why these alerts are
sent, and how they are delivered (e-mail or text message).
There are two types of alerts. The first type is sent when the driving time for your traffic trip is worse than
normal by a user-defined percentage, e.g. you will receive an alert if the driving time is 50% longer than the typical
driving time. The second alert is a traffic or transit status update that is sent at a user-defined time and provides
current driving times or transit departure times.
MY 511 lets you personalize your favorite 511 traffic features. Traffic features include 1) saving
your most frequently traveled trips so you can receive current driving times and traffic incidents and 2) your
favorite camera views.
With MY 511, you can also create personalized transit trips. Similar to traffic trips, you save your favorite
transit trips based on your departure stop. You can then receive real-time departure predictions for all routes
serving that stop.
To register to use MY 511 on both the phone and web, click here. You begin by creating your
profile, which includes your username, password, e-mail address, and phone numbers so that MY 511 can recognize you.
Next, you decide which traffic features to personalize. Finally, you receive a verification e-mail, which confirms
that you are now a registered MY 511 user. Once confirmed, you can begin using MY 511 on the phone or view your personalized
home page immediately.
